Richard specialises in arterial and vein conditions. He treats conditions such as aneurysms, arterial blockages and varicose veins. Richard is also a kidney transplant surgeon.
With over 20 years of surgical experience, he is in private practice, works for Capital & Coast District Health Board and is an honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Otago Medical School.
Richard has qualifications in vascular ultrasound scanning, which means your results are read and acted on quickly.

Melissa Chan RN
Patient satisfaction is key and Melissa oversees all business functions liaising closely with the surgeon, sonographers, management team and outlier clinics to provide great patient service and to help identify business change or growth.
Melissa has over 20 years experience as a registered nurse in operating theatres across many specialties, including coordinating the acute out-of-hours service at Wellington Hospital and as vascular theatre charge nurse.
Toyah’s 10 years experience in office administration in the health sector includes working in mental health services for CCDHB and the Disabled Services Trust.
Justine Gilligan RN
Justine has over 20 years’ experience as a registered nurse. After gaining registration in New Zealand and then America she worked for many years in the US before returning to Wellington.
Justine has specialised in surgical nursing, particularly cardio thoracic and vascular, and as well as working with Mr Richard Evans, she also works in the catheterisation lab at Wakefield hospital.
Carolyn Kirker RN
Vascular Access Nurse Specialist

Carolyn has been a registered nurse for 18 years. She has spent the last 12 years specialising in infusion therapy and vascular access as the Clinical Nurse Specialist for IV and related therapies at Capital and Coast DHB, including setting up the nurse-led peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) insertion service in 2006.
Carolyn is passionate about high-quality vascular access care and provides ultrasound-guided PICC and vascular access device insertion and support services.
